Mr. Shamis was born in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Baldwin High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the State University of New York, College at Brookport.
Mr. Shamis graduated from Western New England College, School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor degree. Mr. Shamis was admitted to New York State Bar in 1982 and has maintained his office in Long Beach, New York from 1985 to the present date.
From 1989 to 2010 his father, Max Shamis, Esq., was of counsel to his law firm. Mr. Shamis has extensive experience in the general practice of law, civil litigation, criminal litigation, real estate transactions, wills, estates, commercial litigation and matrimonial and family law.

I wanted to thank you for everything you did on my case. Not just the appearances, but I believe you worked hard for me and I appreciate you keeping your eyes open for me. You can probably understand that while I have no great affection for Long Beach, you were definitely a welcome face. Not only do I think you are a fantastic attorney, more importantly a wonderful person.
